Fall 2024 Emergency Spills Training
The fall season was a busy time for OPTTA's training activities. We've held sessions at several member sites across the province including Davis & McCauley Fuels and J. Verbruggen Trucking Ltd. Thank you to those businesses for welcoming OPTTA onsite and committing to keeping their workforce highly trained. The training groups were very engaged, and the recent addition of customized spill simulation equipment has been a great success. If you are interested in holding Emergency Spills Training at your organization, please reach out to OPTTA.

OPTTA Visits Canadian Mechanical and Plumbing Exposition
OPTTA was back at the Canadian Mechanical & Plumbing Exposition (CMPX) in Toronto this year from March 20th to the 22nd. This year’s show broke attendance records, so we would like to thank all members that stopped by the booth to say hello and take some time to discuss industry related topics.
As in past shows, OPTTA held a raffle draw for attendees that stopped in at our booth. The prize this year was for a Milwaukee M18 Sawzall, and I am happy to report that it was won by David Hatt of member company Bosanac Heating and Electrical Ltd. located in Hamilton.
CMPX show provides a rare opportunity to converse with contractors from across Ontario to share solutions and opportunities regarding oil burning appliances and equipment. I would also like to pass on a huge thank you to Matt Ward of Ward’s Heating who temporarily took over the OPTTA booth which allowed me to take a quick tour of the show and connect with a number of industry members to further the interests of OPTTA.
We look forward to attending other in-person events in the coming months to
continue to regularly engage with our members and industry colleagues.
